Neighborly Love? or NOT

Haven't you ever had one of those neighbors that you would like to see a meteor shoot out of the sky and hit their house?

I was cooking supper when my kids ran inside shouting that there was a woman on the sidewalk in front of the house, making a scene, wanting to talk to me. I threw the dry towel over my shoulder drying my hands off and walked out onto the porch. She was all hyped up holding onto her little miniature dog's leash yelling about her trash can.

Every Wednesday the city picks up our trash around 7:00 am. Since the city provides the trash service they give you a big trash can and if someone steals it or it gets destroyed in some way then those people are out of luck; because the city does not provide another trash can. That particular morning the trash people gave my husband a trash can.

Months ago someone decided to walk off with our trash can pulling it down the street so we have been without a trash can for quite some time. The trash people said that someone else had one too many trash cans and they knew we needed one, my husband said, "good looking out." SO, we went on about our business all day until this woman shows up at my house later that afternoon.

She said that her neighbor told her that we had her trash can. She went on expressing how she has been living in this neighborhood for 13 years and has never had a problem with her trash can before. She insinuated that I had stolen it and that I better bring her trash can down to her.

Now, first off she came at me sideways and secondly I don't know that to be true or not. I said, "I am not giving you this trash can the trash company gave it to us and if you want it back then i suggest you call the city up." Furthermore, I said "I don't need your f***king trash can and didn't steal it." Well, she didn't like that response at all, her head started beep bopping around and she kept pointing at her trash can, "I want my trash can!" I stood there calmly looking at her crazy self telling her I don't know nothing about her or her trash can to call the city. She walked off mad at the world.

So I carried myself back into the house and continued cooking and cleaning. About 10 minutes later one of my kids came in and said that same lady was taking the trash can. WHAT! so i walked back to the front door and sure enough that lady was running down my yard dumping trash all over my yard while she was dragging the dang thing down my hill. Ha Ha, this is some funny shit I thought. I opened the door and said, "did you call the city?" She screamed, "No!" while she's struggling with that trash can.

I saw the trash on my yard and this time I got angry, that's just disrespectful and nasty I thought. I started toward her demanding she come back and pick that trash up from my yard that she dumped. She quickly said, "its not my trash," while she is running down the sidewalk with the trash can back to her house.

Of course I am heated and I call the city to complain about this situation and about the trash people putting me in this situation.

I am going to admit I picked up the trash in my yard, that also included baby shit, and I wanted to put it in a sealed box and mail her shit right back to her. However, the only thing that stopped me was getting caught on tap at the post office.

I know everyone has had some horrid experience with their neighbors. I took the liberty to finding some great ideas on how to get along with neighbors.

  • Introduce yourself: well me and that lady sure did make an introduction that day.
  • Lend a helping hand: Yep I was babysitting her trash can that day and she fertilized my yard just fine.
  • Offer Support: Well I offered for her to pick her trash up out of my yard.
  • Meet a need: I met my need by calling the city.
  • Share information: Yep! sure did give the city her address.
  • Plan an event: I planned to mail her shit back.
So I think I covered my neighborly experience. Reply back with some horror stories of your own!

Surviving In Poverty

Who doesn't like to save money, To make more room for extra money?

There are two things people love to do and that's "make extra money," and of course "saving money." If you are like me and living in poverty these two strategies seem like an unrealistic goal.

It seems that money is the number one root of all chaotic events. For example, you have a married couple who are passionately in love, but then the economy suddenly takes a nose dive and stress carries baggage into their home and then the couple starts fighting over money problems. This couple begins to get more distant from each other and in some cases ends in a divorce. Sadly, I am a victim of living in poverty and my husband and I fighting just because we are money stressed, but fortunately we work on not fighting, but fixing our situation as much as possible.

Money should never be the cause of such tension and determine a married couples fate.

So how do you even start to save money? Well, you have to crawl before you can walk especially if you are deep in debt. Therefore, taking small steps and having discipline is your key to debt free. I am right now in debt and living below the line of poverty my goal is to rise up financially and not have to worry what bill is not going to get paid this month just to be able buy food for my family.

I am going to practice more money saving habits in order to reach my goal and I am going to share this with you. Remember husbands and wives in order to be debt free you have to, "be content that you have all your necessities, but maybe not all that you want." Yes! it is okay to get rid of cable for awhile, it is not the end of the world.

Number one rule "know where every dollar is going" I understand some of you couples hide your money spending from one another for your own benefits, but you will never rise on top practicing that kind of method, you need to be honest with one another and communicate where your money is going. Next, you want to get creative about meeting needs such as finding the best ways to save money.

I take the time to find the store with the best deals when buying food and supplies, for food it is Price Chopper I use my price chopper card and add up what I am spending with my calculator. In supplies I write down what I can't live without and eliminate what I can live without. I know moms!!! I love my candles to, but really if we are broke we can skip buying them. Locate Thrift shops online are shops near you for the best places to go for kids clothes eight years and younger; any clothes fitting older than eight years you my as well forget it because that's the age kids become more harsh on their clothes and shoes.

So lets put in action what we will do first:

  • Know where our money is going, let's find an online free program to track our spending or use Quick Books to help organize our budgeting and documents.
  • Communication between couples this will help limit the arguing and get both of you on the same goal.
  • Look at thrift shops before going to retail stores for bargains,, yes it may take more time but it is well worth it. Now remember some of these store are available online.
  • Find a grocery store that saves you money, not only does price chopper chop my prices, but gives me a discount on my gasoline; which is awesome!
Okay this is your homework for today and I will be adding daily ways to save money so not only will I reach my financial goal but I can help you reach yours!

Turning Back Is Not An Option, Let's Keep Going!

Round One!

    The Battling Field

As with any law that our government wants to pass or take away there is always a class of people who are effected by this decision in a negative way; while the other class of people are being effected in a positive way and vice-versa.

Not even the government can please everyone.
Of course, since I am part of the low class I seem to get screwed all the time! I could blame the government, but why?

However, with the Obamacare I may just have the chance to get insurance that I desperately need. I am not privileged enough to have a job that offers affordable great insurance. In fact, I am unemployed due to my son getting kidney disease and needing constant care. So my only next step was to apply for medicaid and I was turned down, WHAT? Are you kidding me; how poor do I need to be just to get medicaid insurance? Well Maybe I have the chance to enroll in Obamacare, unless there is a hidden criteria.

I always look at both the pros and cons on everything so I thought it would be awesome to see what the Obamacare boils down to. I found this great site, "Obama Care Facts, dispelling the myths." This site gives a great explanation on if "the cost outweigh the benefits", so check it out! Oh! let me know what you think?

Daily Journal

When Anxiety Hits

I was in the kitchen cooking dinner when this little girl came to me and said, "Mommy I can't do it!" I looked at her and said, "well why not?" She is following me around in the kitchen pacing with frustration, "I don't know, I just don't know where to start." Isa-Bella is my nine year old daughter and number three of the six kids. She struggles with her disabilities which are; pediatric bi-polar, obsessive compulsive disorder, insomnia, and generalized anxiety. I said, "why don't you start with the closest and when you get that organized come back and I'll tell you what else to do." She unwillingly said, "OK mom."

After about fifteen minutes I turned around and she is just standing there with her hands on her hip. Ha Ha I thought, "what now!," I said. "Mom its too overwhelming!! I need you to help me!" Now this is where children with these disorders have already given up so quickly, all they know is that their world is chaotic and they don't have a starting point.

"Mom I have an idea I will clean the whole kitchen including sweeping, dishes, and wiping if you clean my room!" She looked so excited and I couldn't help but crack up. My Isa-Bella is a very smart and creative little girl and all she knows is that she needs to replace whatever is overwhelming her mind; which in this case is her room. "I think that sounds like a fair trade Bella," I told her. So after supper she cleaned the kitchen and I walked upstairs to look at her room. UHM! a tornado ran through our house and visit her room. I am now rethinking the "fair trade plan."

Still Here!

So I have made some progress, although it has taken hours, I haven't figured out how to link my blog to facebook or any other social network since I am unable to find it on the search engines at the moment. I have added two more tabs that I will be offering my contribution on and there will be more to come, however when I have made a post on my other pages it does not show up; only the post I do on my Home page so not sure how to fix that, but ANYONE willing to offer advice please do so, and in the meantime until I figure that out please check me out!

Trial and Error of building a blog

So I am going to share my experience from beginning to end building my blog site. I am sitting in my creating chair and drinking my morning coffee excited to get back on Blogger.com to continue working on my blog when I get a message from Adsense that I am not approved to use the great benefits of their service, which is why I used Blogger.com in the first place. So I read the reason and it reads, "due to inactivity" well of course there is no activity I am in the middle of creating my blog!!! SO I am discouraged at this point, I decide to appeal and hope that decision gets turned around for me. I am new at this and have never created a blog before so this is a trial and error experience. Any Ideas??
